Niguel Shores is a highly sought after community in Dana Point, California, for its direct access to the beach and its prime location. Located north of The Strands at Headlands and south of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, you’ll find it hard pressed to find a better spot.
Niguel Shores is strictly guarded, and access to the neighborhood is only allowed to residents and their guests. There is a variety of sizes and styles here, with starter homes and luxury estates on the bluff fronts. This community is connected by a bridge over the Pacific Coast, of which you’ll find homes on both sides. There is beach front parking for residents, as well as a large park. The Niguel Shores clubhouse has undergone a multimillion dollar makeover, and offers a great place for events and parties. Other amenities include the Olympic sized swimming pool, as well as sports courts for racquetball, tennis, and basketball. The community has many green belts and grassy areas for kids to play in.
Niguel Shores is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, which offers facilities like Richard Henry Dana Elementary School and Marco Forster Middle School. Dana Hills High School is also top notch and opened in 1972 making it one of the oldest high schools in the region. Several private schools are also available in this region, including Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool.
Niguel Shores is a short distance from the Salt Creek Beach, the Ritz Carlton, and the St. Regis Hotel as well as many restaurants, stores, entertainment, and services. The City of Dana Point is one of the few in Orange County with its own harbor. It sponsors many yearly events including the Festival of Whales that began in 1972, and the Tall Ships Festival which is one of the largest events on the West Coast.
